Illumio, the adaptive segmentation market leader, announced today that Jim Yares has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations, bringing a long history of enterprise sales and customer success leadership to the executive team. Yares will oversee global field sales, sales engineering, and customer success, as well as channel development at the data center and cloud security company.
As former Chief Operating Officer for Crownpeak and interim CEO, Yares led their successful private equity investment and merger with London-based ActiveStandards. Prior to Crownpeak, he held a series of executive roles at leading security and technology companies including AlienVault, Hewlett Packard, Fortify Software, BearingPoint, and KPMG.
“Jim brings extensive leadership experience to Illumio, including a stellar track record of developing successful enterprise customer engagements and rapidly scaling global go-to-market organizations that are disrupting the status quo,” said Illumio CEO and Co-Founder Andrew Rubin. “We welcome Jim to the Illumio team at this critical market inflection, confirmed by our customers continuing to tell us that segmentation is the core strategy of data center and application security going forward.”
“The $10 billion market opportunity and rapidly growing roster of enterprise customers who have made Illumio’s Adaptive Security Platform the foundation of their data center and cloud security made the decision to join very straightforward,” said Yares. “I couldn’t be more excited to rapidly expand the field team into this next phase of global growth.”
