Global Guardian Acquires Air Ambulance Card

WASHINGTON, February 9, 2017

Global Guardian, the global security and duty-of-care solutions provider, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Air Ambulance Card, LLC, a Birmingham, Alabama-based firm that operates an air medical evacuation program and provides air medical transportation coordination services to its clients.

Air Ambulance Card is a membership program that provides no-cost air medical transportation and repatriation services to enrolled members experiencing medical emergencies. Unlike insurance, Air Ambulance Card members are not subject to deductibles and are never asked to submit claims forms. There are no pre-existing condition exclusions or medical necessity requirements, and members choose their U.S. or Canadian destination hospital.

One call to Air Ambulance Card’s 24-hour Operations Center and its highly experienced team will immediately begin the planning and coordination process to ensure safe, timely transport of members in need. This coordination includes all aspects of the medical transport cycle – including interface with the initial treating hospital, interface with the member’s primary care physician, coordination with the receiving hospital and medical staff, coordination of ground transport, and all aspects relating to medical aviation operations. Air Ambulance Card handles all of the details and provides ongoing updates to the patient and their family.
