Bloomsbury India Will be Representing Pavilion Books in the Indian Subcontinent

NEW DELHI, September 12, 2016

Pavilion Books, a thriving independent London-based publisher specialising in illustrated books and digital content, has signed an agreement with Bloomsbury India, who will now be responsible for sales, marketing, publicity and distribution of Pavilion’s titles in the Indian subcontinent.

Pavilion publishes around 150 titles a year under a range of established imprints: Batsford, National Trust, Collins & Brown, Pavilion, Pavilion Children’s and Portico. Their high-profile authors include Oz Clarke, Tom Parker Bowles, Gennaro Contaldo, Sally Butcher, David Roberts and Michael Foreman. They also specialise in managing brand-led publishing programmes with large organisations such as The National Trust and The British Library. At the core of their business are lists which focus on wine, cookery, craft, fashion, practical and textile art, design and architecture and children’s books.

Pavilion is also at the forefront of the colouring-in phenomenon. Millie Marotta’s Animal Kingdom was the bestselling non-fiction book in the UK in 2015 and foreign language editions are now sold in more than 35 markets, combined sales of Millie Marotta’s books have reached 8 million copies worldwide. Bloomsbury India will be making all of Millie’s books available in India for the first time. Millie’s new book Curious Creatures also publishes in September.

“We are thrilled to be representing Pavilion in the Indian subcontinent. Not only does it complement and strengthen Bloomsbury’s non-fiction, illustrated and reference list, it also brings the bestselling Millie colouring books to the Indian market for the first time,” said Yogesh Sharma, Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Bloomsbury India.

“Pavilion Books is incredibly excited to be working with Bloomsbury India. We see India as a hugely important market and one where we feel it is vital to increase our presence. This relationship gives us that opportunity,” said Peter Lee, Head of International Sales, Pavilion Books.
